Mom's Birthday

So this is kinda late well actually really late her birthday was over a week ago.... But anyway

For her party we all got together the sunday after... we had mexican food from her favorite place and we had an ice cream bar instead of cake.. since payton LOVES ice cream.... and as you can tell by peyton's party peyton is not that into cake....

When every our family gets together its quite funny... this time Mom brought out this massive bag for straws.... these were like the resturant kind with the wraper on them.... so She tells us we all have to help her unwrap all the straws so she can have them for her school kids to help with math so we all started unwrapping these straws and of cousre instead of just merely taking the wrapper off we all had fun shooting the wrappers at eachother!

Engaged!

Yes it is really true Kyle was crazy enough to ask me to marry him! It was yet another part of this crazy weekend... But since everyone wants to know how and Ashley was upset about it this morning that it wasn't on here here it is.... No pictures yet though sorry!
So Saturday when Kyle finally decided to call it a night and I finally was done throwing up for the day.... We went out to dinner and then once a month we try to do a church related date so we decided that it was the day to do that and we walked around bountiful temple....Did I mention it was freezing! But it was raining which makes everything better!
Anyways back to dinner so we went to Lonestar... and we were pretty much done with our meal and these people came and sat in the booth right behind us... Now Klye's little sister Aly was at her schools homecoming that night since september is homecoming season and all....so these people walked in and the Girl was in a bright red formal dress and the guy was in this cool pin stripe zute suit.... so you would think they were just part of the homecoming crowd however the veil on her head told me other wise and so me and Kyle got talking about the different types of weddings and how ours would be one day and... of couse he asked if he could wear the cool suit that guy was wearing....
After dinner we started driving up to the temple still tlaking about the random things about weddings and what we wanted for ours... and as we were walking around we walked right in to a couple who just got engaged.... so we decided to turn around and give them some space... it was pretty funny though... so anyways were were just sitting on a bench and Kyle was crouched in front of me and he told me he had a preesnt for me and slipped the ring on my finger and of course I started to cry and I guess I never answered the question cause on the way to the car he asked what my answer was but after that we called everyone and then we went home!
So that is the story of how we got engaged!

Crazy Week!

This Week has been pretty intense for me... I started my new job last wednesday and its actually a huge adjustment.... I went from working retail running around a store and managing to working at a desk and being quiet which is a HUGE adjustment sice I am a huge talker... but its been really nice and I feel really good about being there....

However at the begining of last week my tooth had started hurting like crazy so finally I went into my Dentist and I had to get it pulled since it had crack and an infection was going all the way down to my nerve.... So I got that pulled and was put on Loratab... Which I don't do good on.....

Also this weekend was my mom's birthday so for her present we waned to do the downstairs for her so my dad wisked her off to Provo for yet another amazing BYU game and us kids started working... but me trying to work while on loratab was an adventure in itself.... so Kyle and Amy decided to have me not work since everywhere I painted they would have to go back over.... so I layed down a bit and as soon as I got back up to go help I got sick to my stomach and started throwing up all day long.... But the shelves got done and My mom loves her present.... and now all we have left to do is Paint them..... Which I plan on being fully un drugged to help for that part!

Tin Foil Dinners

More from the state fair

On Friday Tyler, Ashley, Kyle and Me all went down to the state fair.... Mainly to get me a funnel cake.... That was the one goal we had and my only reason I wanted to go... So First things first I got my Funnel cake and it was wonderful!... I was so excited I felt like a kid at christmas... The man behind us in line thought we were crazy and I am pretty sure thought Kyle and Tyler were crazy for even wanting to be seen with us... But at least all I need to make me happy is fried batter and powdered sugar....
After our funnel cakes we went and walked around and as tradition goes.. Ashley, Tyler and me all got spray on Tattoos! Kyle didn't feel the need to join in but they all did look pretty cool... I got lucky on the back of my calf and Ashley got cheerful and Tyler got genius......
Then off to more walking till they found the big yellow slide.... Ashley and Tyler had fun going down that and me and Kyle being too cheap saved our money and watched them go down....
The fair was pretty fun... we saw alot of fun stuff and! I got my funnel cake and that all that mattered!

State Fair....

Moving on...

This past month I have had many life changing events.... One of which was quiting OfficeMax.... It has been on my mind since the rumor of downsizing became a harsh reality... True I was lucky enough to keep my job and to have not been one of the many who were laid off... but it was a hard change to overcome and to realize in retail values and Honesty are just there to look pretty and not be followed....
So after leaving I was determind to find a job in the medical feild.... which was quite hard since I have had no medical experience.... I did fix many cuts and scraps at OfficeMax but none too serious...
My first interview was with IHC for a PSR rep. WHich is basically a fancy name for Receptionist... this job had many benifits the downside was it was in salt lake and while to Kyle taking a train to work every day would be a dream come true it would take me an hour or more to get to and from work eachday
The next morning I recived a phone call from The ogden clinic wanting me to go in for an interview as a business office rep... they also had amazing benifits.. the best one is they are so close to where I live...
So both interview I felt went well but I knew so many people were appling for both jobs.... so I waited and Monday came around and IHC called and offered me the job... I was shocked.. Dad kept asking why I wasn't happy... I was in complete shock that I was blessed enough to get that job... But I had my heart set on Ogden Clinic so I told IHC I would make a choice by Friday....
An hour after that call I recived another from Ogden Clinic asking me to come back for a second interview... I yet again couldn't believe it... but then the stress of a second interview flooded my mind and I had 4 days to sit and wait and worry....
The day finally came I woke up got ready a bit too fast and had to wait an hour before it was time to go.. When I got there everything went well and I left feeling I did the best I could and hoping that I would get it....
a few hours later I was on the phone with my mom.... and they called so I hurried to switch and my phone went competly dead... I was so mad.. but a few minutes later I got it working and called them back...
And I got the job! I am so happy! Life is finally starting to turn around and I am finally starting to move on....
OfficeMax was a wonderful learning experience for me and I truely will miss the friendships I gained and the knowlege I gained...
I am sure my co-workers will be happy to know that when they walk by a box there isn't a little Katy hiding in there to scare them and I am sure some will miss the other random things that went on there... I will miss all of them and am so grateful for the laughs that we all had

The "Sink"

After a hard morning of watching my sister go through having to put her second daughter in her fianl resting place... Our Family went to a resturant in Logan called Angies....
We are qutie the loud group when we are all together... All three of us girls have found our "Princes" or in Darcy's Case her "Viking King" and Amy and Darcy both have families of their own... Haley and Peyton are the loudest of all of us... Which is the best part... Peyton will scream HI at the top of her lungs or if she sees food that she wants she says MINE? even more louder and no one can say no to her sweet little face so she knows she will get just about what ever food she wants... Haley has become our little Musical girl much like her mother who was always at the piano... Haley will sing curch hymns when ever she feels like it... She also is quite the little missionary.... She is trying to let her babies know jesus like she does... Thankfully now that she is older she knows more words to the childrens songs they sing in Primary.... A few years ago she used to sing Heavenly father has a cow B I N G O.... it was a pretty amaizing song one that we will never forget but now she sings the real words...
Angies seems to be the place we go after important events.... we went there countless times For my sister Amy's wedding and the yesterday.... Angies has a desert called the sink..... its basically a sink full of ice cream..... If you finish it you get a bumper sitcker saying I cleaned the sink.... Darcy thought she could totally tackle this project with her new husband... however... We all failed at "Cleaning the sink"

Peyton's Party

Bear Lake.... A week late

So Last weekend me and Kyle had the chance to go to Bear Lake... His aunt has a cabin up there, and his little brother Jeremy decided to do his 50 mile bike ride for scouts that weekend... So Friday night went drove up there and by the time we all got there the sun was basically setting so Kyle and his family went and took family pictures together... and me and Kyle were able to get some pictures with just us :)



Then saturday we woke up to the sounds of a dramatic event... Jeremy forgot his shoes! It almost ruinned his experience but no worries Kyle's dad gave him his shoes and crisis was solved :) After the 6 hour bike ride was over the girls went to the boat while the boys got put to work on the deck...
After lunch was over... we went on a 4 wheeling adventure and lets just say I was a little scared... But no worries we made it and didn't fall to our death...

Happy Birthday Peyton Sharee Sorensen!

Today is "Baby Peyton's" Birthday.... She may be out growing her baby name but to Haley I think she will always be called Baby Peyton.... Our family has been so blessed with Peyton she she been such a great blessing in our lives..... You can never have a bad day when she is around... Everytime we get to see her she starts growning more and more.... Finally starting to get tall and she is quite the little active one... But she Keeps her mommy busy and happy although I am sure Amy is getting quite tired of putting her kitchen back together everyday some times more then once...

A year ago today my sister Amy was so tired but fianlly little baby peyton came and of course she is a little trouble maker just like her mother and her father... and the only thing she cuddles with is her pink and brown blanket.... no one else gets lucky...

She is now climbing over thing and up things and making everyone just a tad bet nervous of her new discovery.... she loves to be chased and she loves her puppies...

We are all looking forward to being able to celebrate with her on sunday.... and she just how much she loves her very first cake :)
